Grubbis
Grubbis is a giant trogg who leads the last wave of an attack in Gnomeregan. He does not wait in a room like most bosses: he only appears during an event, when the gnome sapper Blastmaster Emi Shortfuse tries to seal the tunnels the troggs are pouring through. His pet basilisk, Chomper, comes with him.
Background
The troggs that broke into Gnomeregan came from below the earth, and the radioactive gas meant to kill them mostly made them wilder. In the later Adventure Guide's telling, Mekgineer Thermaplugg had intended exactly that, but one trogg reacted in a way he had not expected: Grubbis grew, and kept growing. Thermaplugg was never one to waste a dangerous resource, and the giant now patrols the tunnels with his loyal basilisk, Chomper, who sniffs out gas leaks, tasty fungus and tastier intruders.

The event
Blastmaster Emi Shortfuse stands near the trogg tunnels on the upper level of the first hall, to the left after the entrance. She is trying to find where the troggs are coming from and close the holes for good. When a player tells her they are ready, she walks to the tunnel walls and starts setting charges.
- Troggs, such as Caverndeep Burrowers and Caverndeep Ambushers, pour out of the tunnel in waves while she works. The group must keep them off her.
- She warns the group, counts down, and blows the first tunnel shut. Anyone standing inside it when it collapses is trapped out of the healer's reach.
- A second tunnel opens, more waves come, and near the end Grubbis and Chomper arrive.
- When the event is done, players can loot fireworks from the crates behind her.
Abilities
- Strike: a heavy blow on his target. That is all Grubbis does; his danger comes from the troggs around him.
Strategy
Grubbis himself puts up little fight. The challenge is the event:
- Keep Emi alive. If the troggs kill her, the event fails.
- Use area attacks on the waves; the troggs arrive in groups.
- Do not chase troggs into the tunnel. It collapses about a minute after it opens.
- When Grubbis and Chomper appear, tank them both and kill Chomper first or hold him off to the side.

Loot
| Item | Chance |
|---|---|
| [Grubbis Paws] | 10% |
| [Phalanx Girdle] | 2.8% |
| [Grime-Encrusted Object] | 15% |
[Grubbis Paws] are rare mail gloves with Agility, Strength and Spirit. Our data has no spawn point for Grubbis, since he only appears during the event. The [Grime-Encrusted Object] can be cleaned in the Sparklematic 5200 machine for The Sparklematic 5200!.
Quests
No quest asks for Grubbis. His Grime-Encrusted Objects feed the Sparklematic quests, such as The Sparklematic 5200! and More Sparklematic Action.
Later history
Patch 2.3.0 lowered him from level 32 to 28, and later patches gave him a new model and new loot. The original fight returned with World of Warcraft Classic.
