Kam Deepfury

This is revision 1, from Oct 29, 2026 04:23. See the current page.

Kam Deepfury is a Dark Iron dwarf held in The Stockade, Stormwind's prison. Dwarven intelligence names him as one of the plotters behind the attack that blew apart the Thandol Span, and a dwarf in the Wetlands who lost his kin in that blast wants Kam's head. Unlike most of the Stockade's inmates, he has nothing to do with the Defias Brotherhood.

Background

The Dark Iron Dwarves are the bitter enemies of the Bronzebeard dwarves of Ironforge, ever since the War of the Three Hammers split the dwarven clans centuries ago. In the time of World of Warcraft they raid and sabotage across the Eastern Kingdoms.

The Thandol Span is the great dwarven bridge linking the Wetlands to Arathi Highlands, the main road between Ironforge and the human lands to the north. Dark Iron saboteurs blew up part of it. At Dun Modr, the dwarves' camp at the Wetlands end of the bridge, Roggo Harlbarrow has gathered intelligence showing that Kam Deepfury helped plan the attack. Among those killed were kin of Longbraid the Grim, a dwarf who keeps vigil at the camp.

Kam was caught and is held in the Stockade, kept alive, the quest says, for political reasons. Longbraid's companion Motley Garmason is bound by honor to stay at his side, so he asks the player to go to Stormwind and finish the job.

Abilities

Kam fights like a protection warrior.

  • Shield Slam: a shield blow that damages and stuns his target.
  • Shield Wall: for several seconds, he takes far less damage from everything.
  • He fights in Defensive Stance throughout.

Strategy

Kam has a cell of his own in the Stockade's wings, with other prisoners nearby.

  • Clear the inmates around him first, and stop any that try to flee for help.
  • Expect a slow fight. He has more armor and better defenses than the other inmates, and Shield Wall makes the middle of the fight drag on. Hold big damage cooldowns until it fades.
  • The healer should watch for Shield Slam stuns on the tank.

Loot

Kam drops his head for the quest every time. His only other notable item is a staff that drops very rarely.

Item Chance
[Head of Deepfury] 100% (quest)
[Kam's Walking Stick] (staff) 1%

Kam's Walking Stick is an uncommon staff with Agility and Intellect. It binds when equipped, so it can be sold on the auction house.

Later history

Kam was removed when Cataclysm (patch 4.0.3a) rebuilt the Stockade. The 1.12 version returned with World of Warcraft Classic in 2019.
