Kormok

Kormok is a two-headed ogre necromancer summoned in the Laboratory of Scholomance as part of the Dungeon Set 2 quests added in patch 1.10. Once a mercenary mage, he turned to necromancy, enrolled at the school, and was killed for a piece of a cursed amulet. Players call him back from death with a brazier to take that piece from him.
Background
Kormok belonged to the Veiled Blade, a mercenary company that stole Lord Valthalak's spellbook and amulet from Blackrock Spire. The amulet carried a fragment of Valthalak's spirit, and it corrupted the company one member at a time. [[forever:npc:16033]], the company's ghostly dwarf, explains that Kormok was "ok for an ogre" until he took up necromancy. His two heads did not agree on much: one was cheerful and a little foolish, the other sly and cold.
After the company broke up, Kormok took his piece of the amulet to the Scholomance and enrolled, delighting in raising the banished dead of Purgation Isle. He did not graduate: Lord Valthalak's minions killed him there. Bodley wants all the pieces back before Valthalak can be summoned and destroyed in Upper Blackrock Spire.

Abilities
- Summon Bone Minions: waves of four non-elite skeletons, every 10 to 15 seconds.
- Summon Bone Mages: elite skeletal mages that go after healers and cast fire around themselves.
- [[forever:spell:27688]]: absorbs damage and hurts attackers; he starts the fight with it.
- Shadow Bolt Volley: shadow damage to everyone nearby.
- [[forever:spell:27689]] and Enrage: raise his attack speed.
Strategy
When Kormok rises he shouts that the group cannot summon him, since he is the one who summons. The fight is a test of area damage and crowd control rather than tanking. The [[forever:npc:16119]] have little health and die to area spells, paladin Consecration or [Stratholme Holy Water]. The [[forever:npc:16120]] are the real threat: they go straight for the healer, so the group switches to them as soon as they appear. His Bone Shield should be dispelled whenever it is up.
Some groups chose to ignore the minions and burn Kormok down with every cooldown. He does not hit very hard, and the summons stop when he dies.

Quests
Bodley's quests for the Veiled Blade's amulet are part of the Dungeon Set 2 chain (see Tier Sets). He sends paladins, priests and shamans after the left piece in [[forever:quest:8969]], and hunters and warlocks after the right piece in [[forever:quest:8992]]. Each uses a [[forever:item:22052]] placed in the Laboratory to call Kormok. Once both halves are assembled, the chain leads to Lord Valthalak and [[forever:quest:8995]].
Players who finished the chain could later summon him again with the [[forever:item:22057]].
Later history
The Laboratory was removed when Mists of Pandaria rebuilt Scholomance, taking Kormok with it. Patch 10.1.5's Legacy of Scholomance brought him back for players who still had a brazier.
