Ruuzlu

Ruuzlu is the right hand of Chief Ukorz Sandscalp, the ruler of Zul'Farrak. He waits beside his chief on a raised platform in the inner city, past the door the goblin Weegli blows open after the pyramid fight, and the two are fought together as the dungeon's last encounter. He is a melee bruiser with a cleave and an execute, and he has no boss loot of his own.

Background

Ruuzlu is Ukorz's comrade, friend and most trusted lieutenant. The game's Adventure Guide says the chief has called on him to help begin a new chapter of Sandfury history, one written "in the only way their tribe knows how": with swift and blinding violence. Quests added in Cataclysm describe Ruuzlu's own plans: to use scarabs, basilisks and risen troll zombies to win back Tanaris for the Sandfury.

Abilities

• Cleave: a melee strike that also hits the target's nearest ally.
• Execute: a heavy finishing blow he can use only on targets at 20% health or less.

Strategy

Ruuzlu and Ukorz stand together and fight together. Two plans work:

• Kill Ruuzlu first. He has less health than Ukorz (about 9,600 against 14,400), and his Execute makes him dangerous to anyone who drops low, so removing him early makes the rest of the fight safer. An off-tank or a hunter's pet can hold Ukorz meanwhile.
• Separate them. Tank the two apart, facing away from the group, so Ruuzlu's Cleave and Ukorz's Wide Slash only reach the tanks.

Either way, keep the tanks' health above 20%, where Execute can't be used on them. Melee players should stand behind the trolls, not beside each other, because Cleave can catch the nearest ally.

Loot

From our database (patch 1.12):

He shares the random world drops of Zul'Farrak's other trolls, including rare books such as the [Book: Gift of the Wild] and [Codex: Prayer of Fortitude] at well under one percent. The real rewards of the encounter come from Ukorz, who drops one half of the sword Sul'thraze.

Quests

• Troll Temper: Trenton Lighthammer in Gadgetzan collects Troll Temper, which Ruuzlu often carries.

Later history

Ruuzlu was given an icon in the Adventure Guide when it was added, but he was never included in the guide itself.
