Galgann Firehammer

Galgann Firehammer is a Dark Iron dwarf senator who runs the Shadowforge clan's excavation inside Uldaman. He fights with fire magic at Dig Three, guarded by geologists who also throw flames, and he drops a gun that can blast its target with fire. His aggro yell, "By Thaurissan's beard! Slay them!", names the emperor he serves.

Background

When the Bronzebeard dwarves of Ironforge found Uldaman, their old enemies the Dark Iron Dwarves came after them. According to the game's Adventure Guide, the Dark Irons invaded the vault both to keep its artifacts away from the Bronzebeards and to dig them up for themselves. Galgann, a member of the Shadowforge Senate in Blackrock Depths, was sent to oversee the work so that Emperor Dagran Thaurissan could use the vault's relics as weapons.

His crews of Shadowforge diggers, surveyors and soldiers work throughout the dungeon, and Galgann himself holds Dig Three.

Abilities

Galgann is a fire caster:

• Fire Nova: a burst of fire that hits everyone near him.
• Flame Lash: burns a player and lowers their fire resistance. It stacks.
• Amplify Flames: makes his current target take extra fire damage for a short time.

He fights alongside two Shadowforge Geologists (Shadowforge Geologist), who cast fire spells of their own.

Strategy

The danger in this fight is the room, not Galgann alone. The Dark Irons around Dig Three run when they are close to death, and a fleeing dwarf can pull Galgann into the fight before the group is ready. Clear the room slowly and stop runners with stuns, slows or snares.

When the group is ready, pull Galgann with his two geologists, kill the geologists first, then turn on Galgann. Fire Nova hits everyone nearby, so ranged players and healers should stay back. Because Flame Lash and Amplify Flames both make the target take more fire damage, the healer should watch whoever is carrying the stacks. Fire resistance from paladin auras or shaman totems helps.

Galgann's Fireblaster is a gun that sometimes strikes the ranged target with a Fire Blast. Hunters, warriors and rogues can all use it in the ranged slot. The Flameseer Mantle is cloth with Spirit and up to 14 extra fire spell damage, made for fire mages. Galgann's Firehammer is an uncommon one-handed mace that can blast a target with fire, and the Emberscale Cape is an uncommon cloak with Stamina and Spirit.

• Galgann was voiced by Marc Graue.
• In Shadowlands, the dreadlords Mal'Ganis and Kin'tessa take Galgann's form in the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid.
