Immol'thar

Immol'thar is a demon, a void terror, held prisoner in the heart of Dire Maul West. After the Well of Eternity was destroyed, the Highborne of Eldre'Thalas summoned him and locked him inside a force field so they could feed on his energy, and they have drained him for some ten thousand years. To reach him, a group must shut down the five pylons that power his prison; to finish the wing, they must kill him, which strips Prince Tortheldrin of his power.
Background
When the Well of Eternity was destroyed in The Sundering, the Highborne lost the source of their magic. Many sank into lethargy. Prince Tortheldrin of Eldre'Thalas found another source: he had five pylons built and summoned Immol'thar into the force field between them. His mages, the Shen'dralar, learned to siphon the demon's energy and used it to make themselves immortal.
Unable to fight back or even move, Immol'thar could only wait for the day he would break free and tear his captors apart. Over the centuries the pylons weakened and the energy ran thin, and Tortheldrin began killing his own people so the survivors could have more.
According to World of Warcraft: Chronicle, the Horde raided Dire Maul in Year 25, found the Shen'dralar feeding on the demon and banished him back into the Twisting Nether.

The pylons
Five crystal pylons power the prison: one in the Capital Gardens, one at each end of the upper balcony around Tendris Warpwood's courtyard, and two inside the round prison chamber itself. Each is guarded by arcane elementals, such as Mana Remnants and Arcane Torrents. Killing every guardian around a pylon shuts it down; the crystal stops glowing and no player has to touch it. When all five go dark, the wall around the demon falls and the Highborne Summoners who kept him call out in alarm. Immol'thar turns on his jailers first, then on the group.
The prison chamber is also patrolled by Residual Monstrosities, which burst into small arcane elementals when they die. Groups run away from the corpse and kill the little elementals from range.

Abilities
- Eye of Immol'thar: throughout the fight Immol'thar summons Eyes of Immol'thar, which attack random players. Their gaze (Eye of Immol'thar) slows movement, attacks and spellcasting.
- Portal of Immol'thar: teleports a player, often the tank, away from him.
- Infected Bite: nature damage over time and more physical damage taken.
- Trample: damage to everyone near him.
- Frenzy: a large boost to his attack speed.
Strategy
Immol'thar hits hard and keeps teleporting his target, so groups often have a second player ready to pick him up when the tank vanishes. One player, usually a hunter or a caster, is assigned to the eyes and kills each as soon as it appears. Warcraft Wiki recommends a [Gift of Arthas] and an [Elixir of Demonslaying] for the tank.
Many groups use the fight to set up the quest kill on Prince Tortheldrin. Once Immol'thar is dead, the prince, who has been friendly so far, becomes hostile in the library next door.
