Jin'do the Hexxer
Jin'do the Hexxer is a troll witch doctor and the chief servant of Hakkar the Soulflayer in Zul'Gurub. He is an optional boss, not one of the five high priests, but many players considered him the hardest fight in the raid. Jin'do floods the battle with mind-control totems, healing wards, curses and invisible shades, and the raid wins only by killing everything in the right order. He also drops the [[forever:item:22637]] that the Zandalar use for their enchantments.
Background
Jin'do is a Gurubashi witch doctor, a master of hexes and voodoo who serves the Blood God directly. He gives Hakkar no special power the way the high priests do, so a raid can leave him alive, but his loot and his idol drop meant few raids did. He holds a corner of the city with a cauldron, a pit full of skeletons, and some of the hardest trash in Zul'Gurub: gnome Voodoo Slaves who summon infernals and rain fire, and Withered Mistresses, undead trolls who curse the raid.
He also has a sense of humor. When Bloodlord Mandokir kills three players and yells "Ding!", Jin'do answers "Grats!", the message players sent each other in guild chat when someone gained a level.
Abilities
- Hex: turns the player at the top of his threat list, usually the tank, into a frog. Jin'do turns to the next player until it wears off or is dispelled.
- Delusions of Jin'do: a curse that deals damage over time and lets the cursed player see and attack the Shades of Jin'do. Each time he curses someone, a shade appears. Shades hit for shadow damage and interrupt spellcasting, and only cursed players can target them.
- Brain Wash Totem: a totem that mind-controls the nearest player until the totem dies.
- Powerful Healing Ward: a totem that heals Jin'do for 10,000 health each tick.
- Teleport: sends a random player into the pit of skeletons nearby.
Strategy
The fight has no phases; the raid has to keep the same priorities from start to finish:
- Shades of Jin'do
- Powerful Healing Wards
- Brain Wash Totems
- Jin'do himself
Players with Delusions of Jin'do drop everything and kill shades, since shades that multiply interrupt the healers and wipe the raid. Priests and paladins dispel the Hex from the tank, but nobody removes the Delusions curse, because it's the only way to see the shades. Shades are immune to area damage, so instant damage over time spells are the best weapon against them, and hunters and warlocks send pets that keep attacking after the curse wears off. When a healing ward appears, everyone not busy with shades kills it at once. Mortal Strike and Wound Poison on Jin'do cut the healing it gives him.
Raids assigned a mage to the skeleton pit to clear the skeletons around anyone teleported there, and some tanked Jin'do with a druid in bear form, who couldn't be hexed. Warriors and priests used their fear abilities before the pull so that a brainwashed player couldn't fear the healers. Warcraft Wiki's notes also describe raids that pulled the imps from the nearby Edge of Madness, enslaved them with warlocks, and used them against Jin'do.

Quests
Jin'do's [[forever:item:22637]] goes to Zanza the Restless, the Zandalar spirit inside the raid, who trades it, together with a class's Punctured Voodoo Doll, for a head or leg enchantment in quests such as Prophetic Aura for priests. Bloodlord Mandokir drops the idol too.

Later history
When the raid was removed in Cataclysm, Jin'do's shade returned to Zul'Gurub, raised Mandokir and the high priests, and led the Gurubashi in a new attempt to bring back the Blood God. Players fought him as Jin'do the Godbreaker, the final boss of the five-player Zul'Gurub in patch 4.1, inside the spirit world where Hakkar is chained.
