Meshlok the Harvester

This is revision 1, from Oct 29, 2026 04:23. See the current page.

Meshlok the Harvester is a rare elite bog beast in Maraudon, the centaur burial caves under Desolace. He doesn't appear on every visit, and when he does he is a straightforward brawler with a stun. Groups who find him get a shot at one of three blue (rare) chest and head pieces.

Background

Bog beasts are walking heaps of mud, roots and moss, common in Azeroth's swamps; our data, like the game, counts them as elementals rather than beasts, so abilities that only work on beasts won't touch him. Meshlok is one that grew huge on the poisoned waters of Maraudon. The game gives him no story beyond his name; he is simply one of the many creatures living in the corruption that seeps from Princess Theradras.

He waits at the far end of the purple-crystal side of the dungeon, near Poison Falls, where the two wings of the outer caverns meet. That puts him close to Celebras the Cursed, so groups clearing the Wicked Grotto usually check his spot on the way.

Abilities

  • Strike: a heavy melee blow on the tank.
  • War Stomp: damages everyone nearby, knocks them back and stuns them for 4 seconds.

Strategy

Meshlok is a rare spawn, so there's nothing to plan around until you see him. He has less health than the regular bosses (6,186 in our data, against 13,000 to 23,000 for the others), and his only real threat is War Stomp.

  • Keep ranged players and the healer out of stomp range, so a stun doesn't interrupt heals while he hits the tank.
  • Stand the tank against a wall so the knockback doesn't carry them into another pack.
  • He dies fast; burn him down and move on.

Loot

Meshlok drops one of three blue items, each about a third of the time in our data, plus the usual [Theradric Crystal Carving].

Item Chance
[Nature's Embrace] 33%
[Fungus Shroud Armor] 33%
[Bloomsprout Headpiece] 33%
[Theradric Crystal Carving] 80%

All three need level 46. Nature's Embrace is a cloth robe for priests and paladins, with bonus Holy damage and mana regeneration. The Fungus Shroud Armor is a leather chest with 25 Agility and 10 Stamina for rogues and druids, and the Bloomsprout Headpiece is a mail helm with attack power, Stamina and Nature resistance for hunters and shamans. Because Meshlok isn't always there, these are some of the harder pieces in Maraudon to collect on purpose.

Quests

No quest asks for Meshlok. Like the other Maraudon bosses, he drops Theradric Crystal Carvings for Twisted Evils.

Later history

Cataclysm (patch 4.0.3a) lowered his level to 37.
