Overlord Ramtusk
Overlord Ramtusk is the war leader of the quilboar in Razorfen Kraul, a scarred old warrior who guards a raised platform with two spear-throwing bodyguards. He is a level 32 elite and one of the hardest-hitting fights in the dungeon. He is best known for his loot: [Corpsemaker], a two-handed axe that warriors and paladins of the early 30s chased for weeks.
Background
Ramtusk commands the warriors of the Death's Head, the quilboar sect in the Kraul and in Razorfen Downs that has taken up necromancy and joined The Scourge. He is old by quilboar standards, and his hide carries the scars of fights with centaurs, harpies, orcs and tauren, all neighbors and enemies of the quilboar in The Barrens. Age hasn't slowed him; he leads his troops with the confidence of a veteran.
He answers to the crone Charlga Razorflank, and killing him is a heavy blow to the Death's Head's fighting strength. His war cry calls on Agamaggan, the boar demigod the quilboar worship.

Abilities
- Battle Shout: raises the melee attack power of Ramtusk and the quilboar near him.
- Thunderclap: deals Nature damage to everyone near him and slows their attacks and movement for 10 seconds.
- Bodyguards: two elite Razorfen Spearhide fight beside him. They throw spears from range, and their Thorns Aura damages anyone who strikes them or their allies.
Strategy
Ramtusk is a warrior-style boss with no tricks beyond his guards, so the plan is all about the two Spearhides.
- If the group has crowd control, use it on the guards: a mage's Polymorph, a rogue's Sap before the pull or a warlock's Seduction. Then kill Ramtusk first.
- Without crowd control, the tank holds Ramtusk while everyone else kills the guards one at a time, then turns on the boss.
- Thunderclap hits everyone in melee range and slows them. Keep healers and casters out of it.
- Thorns Aura punishes melee attackers. Healers should expect extra damage on rogues and warriors attacking the guards.
- Only a well-geared tank should hold Ramtusk; his melee damage is high for the level.

Loot
| Item | Chance |
|---|---|
| [Corpsemaker] | 50% |
| [Tusken Helm] | 50% |
| [Treshala's Pendant] | 10% (on the quest) |
Corpsemaker is a slow two-handed axe with 15 Strength and 8 Stamina that needs level 29. It was one of the best weapons a warrior could get before Scarlet Monastery, and Ramtusk drops it half the time. The [Tusken Helm] is a mail helm with Strength and Agility.
Quests
- Mortality Wanes (Alliance): [Treshala's Pendant], wanted by Treshala Fallowbrook in Darnassus, can drop from almost any quilboar in the Kraul, Ramtusk among them.
Later history
Warlords of Draenor (patch 6.0.2) removed Overlord Ramtusk and replaced him with Warlord Ramtusk, a new boss who fights alongside the ghosts of Aggem Thorncurse and Death Speaker Jargba, linked by a shared spirit totem. The original encounter returned with World of Warcraft Classic in 2019.
