Aggem Thorncurse
This is revision 1, from Oct 29, 2026 04:23. See the current page.
Aggem Thorncurse, the Death's Head Prophet, is a quilboar shaman and one of the named elites of Razorfen Kraul. He heals his allies, calls up a spirit boar to fight beside him and stands with a pack of quilboar guards, so the fight is more about control than raw damage. He is a level 30 elite and a regular stop on the way to the dungeon's later bosses.
Background
Quilboar society has long favored shamanism, and the greatest shamans of a tribe are called prophets of Agamaggan, after the boar demigod whose blood, by legend, raised the thorns of the Razorfen. Like other shamans call spirit wolves, these prophets call up the spirits of boars.
Aggem belongs to the Death's Head, a sect of quilboar priests in the Kraul and in Razorfen Downs who have turned to necromancy and joined the cause of The Scourge. Their leader in the Kraul is the crone Charlga Razorflank; behind her stands the lich Amnennar the Coldbringer. Aggem's title of prophet makes him one of the voices who preach that the Death's Head path will bring Agamaggan back.

Abilities
- Chain Heal: a heal that jumps from one wounded ally to up to two more, each jump healing less. It can undo a lot of a group's damage if it isn't interrupted.
- Summon Boar Spirit: summons a Boar Spirit that fights for him for four minutes.
- Battle Shout: raises the attack power of the quilboar around him.

Strategy
Aggem stands with several quilboar, so the pull matters more than the boss himself.
- Pull the group back around a corner so Aggem has to come to the tank instead of standing back and healing.
- Assign an interrupter to Chain Heal. Warriors, rogues and shamans can all stop it; a mage can Counterspell.
- Use crowd control on one or two of the guards. Mages can Polymorph quilboar, which count as humanoids, and rogues can Sap one before the pull.
- Kill Aggem first in most groups. Once he is dead the guards can't be healed. The Boar Spirit lasts only four minutes, so a long fight outlasts it.
- Nearby patrols use the bramble paths; clear them before engaging.
Loot
Aggem has no gear made for him. Beyond random world drops, his table holds a quest item.
| Item | Chance |
|---|---|
| [Treshala's Pendant] | 10% (on the quest) |
| [Sage's Robe] | under 1% (world drop) |
Quests
- Mortality Wanes (Alliance): the remains of Heralath Fallowbrook lie in the Kraul, and his widow Treshala Fallowbrook in Darnassus wants his pendant back. [Treshala's Pendant] can drop from almost any quilboar in the Kraul, Aggem among them.
Later history
Warlords of Draenor (patch 6.0.2) rebuilt Razorfen Kraul. Aggem returned as a ghost, one of three spirits who fight together in the new Warlord Ramtusk encounter, sharing a spirit link with Ramtusk and Death Speaker Jargba. Aggem later appeared as a card in Hearthstone. The original encounter returned with World of Warcraft Classic in 2019.
