Guard Slip'kik is one of King Gordok's three ogre guards in Dire Maul North. On a tribute run he is the guard players freeze rather than fight: a broken ogre trap near his post can be repaired, and when Slip'kik wanders into it he is locked in a block of ice. Once the king is dead, he cheerfully serves the new ruler from inside the ice and grants Slip'kik's Savvy, a boost to spell critical strikes.
Background
Slip'kik stands guard for King Gordok with Guard Mol'dar and Guard Fengus. The game's Adventure Guide says that he seems cautious but is really lazy. Instead of challenging the king openly, he spends his time tinkering with traps and broken magical devices, hoping one day to finish Gordok off without any risk.
Fittingly, it is a trap that gets him in the end. After a tribute run he isn't even angry: "You got me good boss! How you get by Slip'kik?? I smart though, I watch next time!"
Abilities
- Shield Bash: interrupts spellcasting.
- Shield Charge: charges a player and knocks them back.
- Strike: a heavy melee blow.
- Intruder Alert!: at half health he goes into a frenzy and calls for help.
Strategy
Near Slip'kik's post lies a broken ogre trap. The captive goblin Knot Thimblejack explains how to fix it: it needs a [Thorium Widget] and some [Frost Oil]. Clicking the trap with both starts and completes A Broken Trap, and the repaired trap freezes Slip'kik solid the next time he steps near it, so the group can walk past. Engineers or the auction house supply the widget, and alchemists the oil.
If the trap isn't ready, Slip'kik fights like the other guards, but every guard killed means one less item in the Gordok Tribute and one less buff.

Bulky Iron Spaulders are plate, Denwatcher's Shoulders mail and Sublime Wristguards cloth; Hedgecutter is a one-handed axe.
