Oggleflint
Oggleflint is the chieftain of the Ragefire troggs and the first boss most groups meet in Ragefire Chasm, the lava caves beneath Orgrimmar. He is a plain melee fight with no tricks, and for many Horde players he is the first named elite they ever kill in a dungeon.
Background
Troggs are squat, brutish cave dwellers that boil up out of the deep places of the world. A tribe of them, the Ragefire troggs, climbed into the volcanic tunnels under the Cleft of Shadow, Orgrimmar's shadowy lower district, and Oggleflint is their chief. The tauren elder Magatha Grimtotem sent envoys to talk with them; the troggs answered with violence, and her servant Maur Grimtotem never came back.
The troggs are not the only ones in the chasm. Deeper in, the Searing Blade cult has made its hideout, led by Taragaman the Hungerer, Jergosh the Invoker and Bazzalan. Later Blizzard material describes the troggs as having ruled the caves until the cultists moved in and pushed them back toward the entrance, which fits where Oggleflint stands: in the trogg caves near the start of the dungeon.

Abilities
- Cleave: a swing that hits his target and the enemy standing next to it. Melee players should stand behind him rather than beside the tank.
That is the whole fight. Oggleflint hits hard for a level 16 creature, but he has no spells, no adds of his own and no special phase.
Strategy
Oggleflint stands in a trogg cave close to the entrance, surrounded by Ragefire Troggs and Ragefire Shamans. The shamans are the real danger in this part of the dungeon, since they heal their allies and throw lightning, so groups usually kill or interrupt them first and pull the chieftain once his cave is clear.
- Let the tank turn Oggleflint away from the group so Cleave only hits the tank.
- Clear the troggs around him first; every enemy in Ragefire Chasm is elite, and a pull of three or four elites at once is the usual cause of a wipe here.
- The cave also has Earthborers and Molten Elementals nearby. Watch for patrols before pulling.
A group of level 13 to 15 players can kill him easily once the room is clear.

Loot
Oggleflint has no loot table of his own in patch 1.12. He drops coins, cloth and the same random world drops as any creature of his level, such as uncommon gems and low-level recipes, each at well under 2 percent. Players who want gear from the chasm get it from the Searing Blade leaders deeper in, or from the quests.
| Item | Chance |
|---|---|
| [Shadowgem] | 1.9% |
| [Moss Agate] | 0.9% |
| [Tigerseye] | 0.7% |
Quests
No quest in patch 1.12 asks for Oggleflint himself. Two Ragefire Chasm quests send players through his caves on the way:
- Testing an Enemy's Strength: Rahauro in Thunder Bluff, acting for Magatha Grimtotem, wants Ragefire Troggs and Ragefire Shamans killed to test the troggs' strength.
- Searching for the Lost Satchel: find the body of Maur Grimtotem, Magatha's lost envoy, inside the chasm.
Later history
When Mists of Pandaria (patch 5.0.4) rebuilt Ragefire Chasm, Oggleflint was removed as a boss. His corpse still lies in the cave, where it serves as food for a new trogg leader. The original encounter returned with World of Warcraft Classic in 2019.
