Orgrimmar
Orgrimmar is the capital of the orcs and the seat of the Horde, a fortress city built into a canyon at the northern edge of Durotar. Thrall, the Warchief, rules from Grommash Hold at its heart, and the city is the main gathering place for Horde players in Kalimdor: its bank, auction house, trainers, zeppelins and the Ragefire Chasm dungeon are all here. It is named after Orgrim Doomhammer, the Warchief who came before Thrall.
Layout
Orgrimmar fills a deep red canyon, with spiked walls, wooden buildings and huts built into the rock. It is divided into districts:
- The Valley of Strength, just inside the main gate, is the busiest part of the city. It holds the bank (with Karus), the auction house, the inn run by Innkeeper Gryshka, and many vendors.
- The Drag is a winding market street lined with shops, profession trainers and vendors such as Kor'jus.
- The Valley of Wisdom in the north holds Grommash Hold, Thrall's throne room, and the Elder Far Seer Zor Lonetree.
- The Valley of Spirits in the southwest is the trolls' quarter, where Vol'jin and the shaman, priest and mage trainers live.
- The Valley of Honor in the east holds the warrior and hunter trainers and the Hall of Legends, where high-ranking players of the Honor System buy their rewards.
- The Cleft of Shadow is a dark gorge under the city with the rogue and warlock trainers, shady vendors and the entrance to Ragefire Chasm.
Outside the gates stand the zeppelin tower and the long road south to Razor Hill.

History
After the orcs escaped the internment camps of Lordaeron and fought beside the night elves and humans against Archimonde in the Third War, Thrall led them to the land he named Durotar after his father, Durotan. There he founded a new capital and named it after Orgrim Doomhammer, the old Warchief who befriended him and died in battle against the humans, leaving Thrall his armor and hammer. The main hall, Grommash Hold, honors Grom Hellscream, who freed the orcs from their demon blood curse by killing Mannoroth.
The city is not as safe as it looks. The Burning Blade cult has agents in the Cleft of Shadow, and Thrall knows that one of the city's warlocks secretly leads it.

Quests
Orgrimmar has around 85 quests in our database across all levels, mostly as starting or turn-in points.
- Hidden Enemies: in Hidden Enemies, Thrall asks a level 12-16 player to look for traitors. The chain continues with Hidden Enemies, where you show a Burning Blade insignia to Neeru Fireblade to see if he will trust you, and leads into Ragefire Chasm.
- The Ashenvale Hunt: The Ashenvale Hunt sends Horde players north to Splintertree Post in Ashenvale.
- Cloth donations: the city's cloth quartermasters, Vehena and Rashona Straglash, take donations of wool, silk, mageweave and runecloth for reputation with Orgrimmar (such as A Donation of Wool and A Donation of Runecloth) and with the Darkspear trolls (A Donation of Wool).
- Onyxia: the Horde attunement for Onyxia's Lair starts with Eitrigg's Wisdom and What the Wind Carries, in which Thrall tells the story of the dragon's disguise and sends you to find Rexxar in Desolace with The Champion of the Horde.
- Dragon heads: a guild that kills Onyxia brings her head to Thrall in Victory for the Horde, and one that kills Nefarian brings his in The Lord of Blackrock. Each head is then raised in the Valley of Strength, and every Horde player nearby receives Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer.
- Rend Blackhand: killing the warchief of the Dark Horde in Blackrock Spire and bringing his head to Thrall earns Warchief's Blessing, a buff for everyone in the city.
Dungeons
Ragefire Chasm (Ragefire Chasm) is a network of lava caves under Orgrimmar, entered from the Cleft of Shadow. It is the lowest-level Horde dungeon, for roughly levels 13 to 18. Troggs, cultists of the Burning Blade and their leaders live there, among them Oggleflint, Taragaman the Hungerer, Jergosh the Invoker and Bazzalan.

Getting there
- On foot: follow the road north from Razor Hill in Durotar.
- By zeppelin: the goblin tower just outside the gate has zeppelins to Tirisfal Glades (for Undercity) and to Grom'gol Base in Stranglethorn Vale.
- By wind rider: Doras is the city's wind rider master.
- By hearthstone: many Horde players set their Hearthstone at the inn in the Valley of Strength.
Later history
In Cataclysm (2010), the new Warchief Garrosh Hellscream rebuilt Orgrimmar in iron and stone, and in Mists of Pandaria the city was besieged in the Siege of Orgrimmar raid.
