Charlga Razorflank
This is revision 1, from Oct 29, 2026 04:23. See the current page.
Charlga Razorflank, the Crone, rules the quilboar of Razorfen Kraul and is the dungeon's final boss. An old priestess and geomancer, she has led her tribe in raids across The Barrens and quietly opened talks with The Scourge. Players of both factions are sent to kill her, and a letter she carries starts a Horde quest that exposes her deal with the undead. She is a level 33 elite caster who heals herself and throws chain lightning.
Background
The quilboar believe the thorns of the Razorfen grew from the blood of Agamaggan, a boar demigod who died fighting the Burning Legion in the War of the Ancients. The Kraul is the largest of these thickets, and Charlga took control of it after a fast rise to power. Under her rule the Razorfen drove the tauren out of the southern Barrens and attacked rival tribes and Horde settlements. She is also a skilled shaper of thorns: much of the great bramble dome over Razorfen Downs is her work.
Charlga says she wants to bring Agamaggan back, but her methods are dark. She has been dealing with agents of the Scourge, who offer her the Barrens and lands beyond in exchange for a free hand in the region. The quilboar of the Death's Head, who now serve the lich Amnennar the Coldbringer in the Downs, count her as their leader in the Kraul. Her dying words warn that her new allies will avenge her.

Abilities
- Chain Bolt: a lightning bolt that jumps to up to three players, hitting each one.
- Renew: a heal over time on herself or an ally.
- Mana Spike: restores her own mana.
- Purity: makes her immune to all attacks and spells for two seconds.
She is immune to Shadow damage, stuns and silences, so warlocks and shadow priests do little to her, and the usual tricks for shutting down a caster don't work.
Strategy
Charlga waits in her chamber at the end of the Kraul with a few quilboar guards.
- Clear or crowd-control her guards first. Polymorph and Sap both work on quilboar.
- Spread out a little so Chain Bolt can't hit the whole group with every cast.
- Since she can't be silenced, interrupt her with Kick, Pummel, Shield Bash or Counterspell. Those lock out a spell school rather than silence, so they still work.
- Dispel or out-damage her Renew. A priest's Dispel Magic or a shaman's Purge can take it off.
- Shadow casters should switch to other schools or wands. Warlocks can still help with Fire spells and pets.

Quests
- The Crone of the Kraul (Alliance): Falfindel Waywarder at Thalanaar in Feralas wants [Razorflank's Medallion] as proof of her death.
- A Vengeful Fate (Horde): Auld Stonespire in Thunder Bluff wants [Razorflank's Heart]. Both quests offer [Berylline Pads], [Stonefist Girdle] or [Marbled Buckler].
- An Unholy Alliance (Horde): Charlga always drops [Small Scroll], a letter to her from a Scourge envoy. Bringing it to Varimathras in Undercity leads to An Unholy Alliance, which sends players to kill Ambassador Malcin outside Razorfen Downs.
Later history
Warlords of Draenor (patch 6.0.2) rebuilt Razorfen Kraul with a new Charlga, a geomancer who commands crystals of venom, water and fire. In that version the spirit of Agamaggan himself asks adventurers to tear out her heart. Charlga also appears in Hearthstone and Warcraft Rumble. The original encounter returned with World of Warcraft Classic in 2019.
