Felwood

Felwood is a forest in northern Kalimdor, between Ashenvale and Winterspring, that has been poisoned by demonic magic. Once part of the night elf woodland of Ashenvale, it is now a land of sickly green rivers, twisted trees and maddened creatures, with quests for characters from about level 48 to 55. At level 60 it remained a regular stop: its corrupted plants give some of the best world buffs in the game, and the Shadow Council stronghold of Jaedenar supplies warlocks and tailors with Felcloth.
Geography
Felwood is a long north-south strip of forest. The southern end, near Ashenvale, holds the Emerald Sanctuary, a small camp of the druids of the Emerald Circle, and Deadwood Village, a furbolg camp. Moving north, the Bloodvenom River runs through the middle of the zone past Bloodvenom Post, the Horde camp. Jaedenar, a demon-held valley with a moonwell gone foul, lies on the western side; at its back is Shadow Hold, a cave complex where the Shadow Council keeps its leaders.
Further north are Irontree Woods, full of corrupted treants and elementals, Shatter Scar Vale with its fel craters, Jadefire Glen and Jadefire Run with their satyrs, and Talonbranch Glade, the Alliance camp. The northeastern corner holds Felpaw Village and the tunnel of Timbermaw Hold, which leads to Winterspring and Moonglade.
History
Felwood was part of the great forest of Ashenvale until the Third War. The demons of the Burning Legion and their servants poisoned the land during and after the war, and the corruption spread through the water and soil. The Shadow Council, the warlock cabal that secretly ruled the old Horde under Gul'dan, took Jaedenar as a base. The druids of the Cenarion Circle and its Emerald Circle branch work to cleanse the forest, while the Timbermaw furbolgs, alone among their kind, have resisted the corruption that drove the Deadwood and Felpaw tribes mad.
Quests and notable NPCs
Emerald Sanctuary and Jaedenar
Greta Mosshoof at the Emerald Sanctuary leads the campaign against Jaedenar. Her chain runs from Forces of Jaedenar and Collection of the Corrupt Water through Dousing the Flames of Protection, in which players douse the braziers inside Shadow Hold, to A Final Blow, which ends with the death of Shadow Lord Fel'dan. Deeper inside Shadow Hold waits Lord Banehollow, the Shadow Council's leader in Felwood. A separate chain begins with the [Blood Red Key] and the rescue of Arko'narin in Rescue From Jaedenar, and continues with Retribution of the Light, in which players kill the succubus Rakaiah.
Taronn Redfeather sends players to check the craters of Shatter Scar Vale in Verifying the Corruption.
Bloodvenom Post
Winna Hazzard, a goblin at the Horde camp, studies the corrupted moonwells in Well of Corruption and Corrupted Sabers. Dreka'Sur wants revenge on Overlord Ror in A Husband's Last Battle, and Trull Failbane targets the corrupted owlbeasts in Wild Guardians.
The Jadefire satyrs
Alliance players work with Eridan Bluewind, a druid in southern Felwood, whose chain against the Jadefire satyrs includes The Corruption of the Jadefire and Flute of Xavaric. Eridan also plays a part in the Linken chain from Un'Goro Crater.
Cleansing Felwood
Felwood is known for its corrupted plants: the Songflower, Whipper Root, Windblossom and Night Dragon's Breath. Players use a [Cenarion Plant Salve] on a corrupted plant to cleanse it and pick its fruit or flower. The salve comes from Arathandris Silversky for the Alliance or Maybess Riverbreeze for the Horde, in exchange for [Blood Amber] or a stack of materials from a gathering profession, as in Cleansing Felwood and Salve via Hunting.
The most valued result is Songflower Serenade, a buff from the Songflower that raises all attributes and critical strike chance for an hour. Raiding guilds made regular trips to Felwood before Molten Core and Blackwing Lair to collect it.

Timbermaw Hold
The furbolgs of Timbermaw Hold guard the tunnel between Felwood, Winterspring and Moonglade. They start out unfriendly to both factions; players earn their trust by killing Deadwood furbolgs in Felwood and Winterfall furbolgs in Winterspring. Grazle gives Deadwood of the North, and [[forever:npc:15395]] at the tunnel entrance takes [[forever:item:21377]] for more reputation. Once players climb from Hostile to Unfriendly, the guards in the tunnel stop attacking them.
Getting there
From Ashenvale, the road north leads past the Emerald Sanctuary into Felwood. Bloodvenom Post has a wind rider master and Talonbranch Glade a hippogryph master, Mishellena. The Timbermaw tunnel in the northeast is the fastest way on to Winterspring and Moonglade.
